What is Chromatic?

Chromatic is a cloud service made by the Storybook team that catches visual, interaction, and accessibility issues before they ship. It works with existing Storybook, Vitest, Playwright, and Cypress tests to enhance them with visual, accessibility, and functional checks without requiring extra test writing.

Can Chromatic help detect visual regressions?

Yes. Chromatic tests the rendered code, styling, and assets that are shipped to the browser to find bugs in appearance, layout, fonts, and colors. It captures visual snapshots in real browsers and compares them over time to detect regressions fast.

How does TurboSnap reduce costs?

TurboSnap tracks file changes to determine which tests are affected, then captures snapshots only for those tests. Unaffected tests reuse their previous snapshots which count less toward your usage, avoiding the cost compounding that happens with other tools that snapshot every test on every build.
